This year has been a blur, just like this photo! We just finished up our first Brave Writer unit with our Band & Beyond micro-school. We read the first book in the Heartwood Hotel series. My kids LOVED it. I wrote the curriculum for this unit creating a parent book and a student book. I used resources from many different curricula to make a fun, cohesive, and hands on learning experience for my students. By combining Brave Writer literature studies & and writing curriculum with grammar and literature resources I found on teacher pay teacher, the kids had a blast. They created an interactive notebook, a homophone mini-book, and completed and animal research project in the form of a lapbook! Coming up next is Because of Winn Dixie. I cannot wait to see the kids learning how to use Canva for this unit! We have all sorts of things lined up. We will be learning a lot about dogs and creating brochures!
