Band Summer 2025

Join us this summer for a thrilling musical adventure as we begin preparing for our fall performance, A Spooktacular Event! While the full band won’t officially form until October, this 10-session summer class gives students an exciting head start on music, performance skills, and themed surprises.

Over the course of 10 classes (each 2 hours long), students will:

  • Preview and begin rehearsing pieces from A Spooktacular Event

  • Explore spooky soundscapes and special effects for band

  • Practice solo and small ensemble features

  • Get creative with early puppet show and theatrical ideas

  • Strengthen ensemble skills like listening, dynamics, and rhythm

Whether you’re returning or brand new to the band, this is a perfect way to keep your chops up and have some musical fun with friends before our full spooky show launches in the fall. Come for the music—stay for the thrills!

Music Lessons

Thursday Afternoon & Evening

Personalized attention, tailored instruction, and feedback crucial for musical growth. Students will foster a deeper understanding of technique, theory, and musical expression. One-on-one guidance allows for customized learning, addressing individual strengths and weaknesses.

Summer 2025

🎨 Art: Soul Sparkletters Studio

Tap into your creativity this semester with an art class inspired by Soul Sparkletters—a heart-centered art journaling approach that blends imagination, mindfulness, and expressive design. Each week, students will work on meaningful, colorful projects that combine drawing, painting, lettering, and mixed media.

Students will:

  • Explore themes of identity, inspiration, and gratitude

  • Practice foundational art techniques and color theory

  • Learn creative journaling and storytelling through visuals

  • Build confidence in personal expression and reflection

No prior art experience needed—just a willingness to play with paint, paper, and possibility!

🎸 Beginning Guitar: Chords & Campfire Songs

Strum your way into music with our Beginning Guitar class! This class is perfect for students who are new to the instrument or want a refresher on the basics.

Students will:

  • Learn to tune and care for their guitar

  • Play basic open chords and strumming patterns

  • Read chord charts and simple tabs

  • Perform fun, familiar songs by the end of the session

Whether you dream of leading a sing-along or just jamming at home, this class will get your fingers moving and your confidence growing!

🧁🎶 Muffins & Musicals

Summer 2025

Bake, decorate, and sing your heart out in this cozy, creative class that meets once a month for four months! Each two-hour session combines the joy of baking with the magic of musical theatre.

In each class, students will:

  • Bake and decorate themed muffins

  • Listen to and discuss songs from a featured musical

  • Explore characters, stories, and fun facts behind the show

  • Enjoy theatre-themed games and light acting activities

Perfect for musical lovers and creative bakers alike, Muffins & Musicals is a sweet mix of storytelling, singing, and sugar. Come for the muffins, stay for the music!

Book Club--Summer 2025

In this two-part book club, students will read A Song for a Whale by Lynne Kelly, a moving story about Iris, a twelve-year-old deaf girl who feels a deep connection to a whale that sings at a frequency no other whales can hear. We’ll meet once at the beginning to introduce the book, set reading goals, and explore key themes like communication, identity, and perseverance. After students complete the book independently, we’ll gather again to share insights, favorite moments, and reflections on Iris’s journey. Creative activities and optional projects will give students a chance to express what the story meant to them in a meaningful and personal way.

WWII ECHOS--spring 2025

WWII Echoes: History, Science, and Music explores the profound impacts of World War II through the lens of literature, science, and music. Students will analyze historical events, scientific advancements, and cultural shifts while reading thought-provoking works. The course integrates discussions, projects, and creative interpretations to deepen understanding.

 

Game Day Jam: Sports and Music Connection
spring 2025

Game Day Jam: Sports & Music Connection offers students the opportunity to learn the basic rules, skills, and strategies of popular U.S. sports over two-week increments. The course covers sports like football, basketball, baseball, soccer, and more, providing hands-on activities and engaging lessons. Throughout, students will explore how music plays a key role in energizing games and enhancing the fan experience. With a focus on both athletic and cultural elements, the class encourages students to appreciate the connections between sports, teamwork, and the vibrant soundtrack of American sporting events.

Art Club

Fall 2024

Using this popular art curriculum students will create an art portfolio that compliments their interests. Joining an art club nurtures creativity, fosters self-expression, and provides a supportive community for artistic exploration. It offers opportunities for skill development, inspiration, and networking with like-minded individuals passionate about art. Students will also read a coordinating book to expand knowledge, broaden perspective, enhance critical thinking, and inspire creativity.

Fall 2024

Students benefit from joining a music club as it fosters creativity, teamwork, and discipline. Through practicing and performing together, they develop musical skills and confidence. Music clubs also provide a supportive environment to explore different genres and instruments, expanding their cultural and artistic horizons. Additionally, participating in club activities enhances social connections and builds friendships with peers who share similar interests. Ultimately, being part of a music club offers students a well-rounded experience that enriches their education beyond academics, promoting personal growth and a lifelong appreciation for music.

Mini Musicians

Fall 2024

Elementary-age kids benefit significantly from learning to play the recorder and other pitched instruments for several reasons. Firstly, it helps develop their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Secondly, learning these instruments introduces them to basic music theory, including notes, rhythms, and melodies, which supports cognitive development and academic achievement. Thirdly, playing music together fosters teamwork, patience, and listening skills. Moreover, it boosts their confidence and self-expression through performance opportunities. Lastly, early exposure to music can cultivate a lifelong appreciation for the arts and provide a positive outlet for creativity and emotional expression.
